Tipsy Vegan is a unique restaurant located in Cambridge, with a design inspired by the Prohibition era. The 195 sq/m (2,100 sq/ft) interior reflects a modern twist on the classic speakeasy, offering a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests can enjoy vegan tapas and cocktails. The client wanted a space that felt intimate yet vibrant, where the design would enhance the dining experience without overwhelming the historical architecture of the building.

The design utilised the existing architecture of the building, allowing the layout to flow naturally without partitions, creating an open, welcoming space. Dark tones and rich textures were used to evoke the moody, intimate feel of a classic speakeasy, while modern furnishings and subtle lighting brought a contemporary edge.

The interior features dark, polished wood, vintage-inspired light fixtures, and deep colour tones, all carefully selected to evoke the spirit of the Prohibition era. The open layout allows guests to feel connected to the space, with no partitions to break up the flow. The design highlights the history of the building while incorporating contemporary touches to create a space that feels both timeless and forward-thinking.
